Covered Journey Transportation Co. was created from a simple but powerful experience.
While providing rideshare transportation, our founder met a young man on the autism spectrum whose mother carefully explained his needs before the trip. Her concern wasn't just whether he would arrive safely — it was whether the person transporting him would understand the importance of patience, routine, communication, and trust.
That experience revealed a challenge many families face every day: finding dependable transportation for loved ones with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Today, Covered Journey exists to provide more than transportation.

Experience That Makes a Difference
For more than 14 years, our founder has worked directly in the disability services field, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and autism in community-based settings.
Her professional experience includes extensive training and development through ADAPT Community Network, formerly known as United Cerebral Palsy of New York City, along with years of experience serving individuals and families through community habilitation services.
As a Community Habilitation Specialist, she gained firsthand experience understanding the unique routines, communication styles, sensory needs, and support systems that help individuals thrive.
That experience now serves as the foundation of Covered Journey Transportation Co.
